Life's what you make it.

So I know as you read the title, many of you, as I did, will have a certain irritating song stuck in your head. But really, Hannah Montana has a point.

I go to a Christian college where there is really not much to do. ever. Last year, I sat around complaining the entire time about how there was nothing to do and wishing I was somewhere else. Well, this year, I will not let my time go to waste. I am going to make this year worth it!

How am I going to do this you may ask? Well, I, along with my friends, compiled a giant list of fun things to do on weekends. We are going to print out this list and cut each item into a little strip of paper, fold each one up, and put them in a big mason jar. During the week while we are complaining of nothing fun to do, we will plan our weekend by picking out an activity from the jar and completing it.

In that jar, there are things like pranking our guy friends, movie nights under a fort, road trips to Philly, laser tag, coffee dates, and board game nights. I am so excited to complete them!

But the point is, life is really what you make of it. If you sit around in your room all day, you will obviously be bored. But if you get out and really try to make something of your day, you will most likely have fun, and that is what I want to do with every moment, with my day, and with my year!

So now that you have heard my little spiel... I think that I am going to start a new challenge because the 30 day challenge just wasn't working out... So every time my friends and I complete one of the activities on the list, I will blog about the experience and post pictures! Hopefully I can stick with it this time :)

Day 14: What I wore today

Hello my long lost blog friends! As you can see, I have not blogged for months! Oops! For some reason, I just lost inspiration. But hey! I am back! And hopefully this time I can keep up with it and finally finish the "30 day challenge" turned "30 day challenge in 6 months." ;)

So, let's just dive right in. Today's challenge is "What I Wore Today."
Well, it's summer, and I work from home. Therefore, if I have no where to go, all I wear around the house is my lovely running shorts and a t-shirt. So I think I am doing you a favor by not posting a picture of what I wore today. You can just imagine it for yourself... or not...

Other than being lazy and not changing out of my pj's almost everyday, this summer has been quite eventful! With visits to Jeremiah in Florida, sleepovers with the Wead sisters, church events, work, Charity's dress fittings, and wedding planning, I have definitely been keeping pretty busy! And I hope that I will be able to keep disciplined with blogging for the rest of the summer, because I am sure there will be some funny pre-wedding and wedding stories :)

wait.

Have you ever prayed for something to happen? Prayed for an answer to a problem? and didn't hear a yes or a no? All you heard from God is... wait. I would rather hear a 'no' than a 'wait' from God. Waiting for something really important to me is the single most difficult thing for me to do.

The following is taken from Ron Hutchcraft Ministries Inc.:

"'What's taking so long, God? I want it, and I want it now!' Maybe there's something you've been asking God for, trusting God for. And it's been a while, and it still hasn't come. You want it now, but there's a reason God isn't giving it to you now. It's not ready yet. And it would disappoint you if He gave it to you now.

There's a word that's one of the major keys to God's best, it's a word that is spelled out in our word for today from the Word of God. Psalm 37 , beginning with verse 5, tells us to: "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this...Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him...Wait for the Lord and keep His way." There's the word that often stands between you and God's best - wait. Part of committing your way to the Lord, of trusting in Him, is to wait until God says it's ready; until God says you're ready. So many people are living today in the heartache of their own impatience. They couldn't wait, so they grabbed what they could have now. And it's been much less than what God was getting ready for them."

This is painfully hard for me to do, but I have to remember the saying, "good comes to those who wait."

Day 13: This week

this week I...

got back to school from spring break on Sunday night. Then after a few hours back at school, Jeremy and I picked up our friends from the airport who were flying back to school from Boston. The next morning and next few days were definitely hard to get through considering the week before I slept practically as long as I wanted to everyday. Though once I was halfway through the week, I was sort of back into the routine.

Then on Thursday, I changed my major from Christian Ministries to Business Administration, and I am SO happy about it. I am really looking forward to what God has planned for me! Then, Jeremy and I took another one of my friends to the airport that night, and when we came back, we ran around campus and made a plan to do that together every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday :) (hopefully we stick to it! Lord knows, my swimsuit body needs a little touch up.) After the run, a friend of mine from last semester came to visit and was staying in my room. So I talked with her a little, and we even got to hang out a bit on Saturday night :)

On Saturday, Jeremy and I got our pictures taken by my wonderful friend, Autumn from Autumnskyephotography.blogspot.com. (She is amazing, and never before have I felt so comfortable getting my pictures taken!) Then, Autumn, Jeremy, and I all went to King of Prussia Mall. And if you don't know what that is, it is like the second largest mall in America (and its only 20 minutes away from campus). We shopped around a bit, and ate Chic-fil-a, thanks to Jeremy who provided three wonderful free chicken sandwich coupons for us :) It was a wonderful day.

Then today, Sunday, I went to church with Jeremy, then to Rita's for free water ice day due to the fact today was the first day of spring :) Then Jeremy and I were craving pizza so we stopped at this ridiculously cheap pizza joint which ended up being fantastic! Which is not so good for my swimsuit body, but have no fear! I went running again tonight with Jeremy. :)

Now, I am sitting here in my college dorm looking forward to a new and exciting week!
